Bela Fleck — Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum from Debussy Children’s Corner Suite
I had a chance to see Bela Fleck with the Oregon Symphony this weekend in a very good performance of his banjo concerto and an orchestral arrangement of Big Country.
Looking forward to somehow being able to hear the orchestral arrangement again sometime. cough, plz release a recording thx

Johannes Van Bree — Allegro for Four String Quartets
(Allegro for [string quartet]² ?)
…ah yes, another classic from the long list of works for four string quartets. I have to admire the work’s simplicity though — it seems like it was written mostly as an exercise in instrumentation. The themes are straightforward, playable, and really legible to the listener.
The hardest part about this work is finding the right group of people to play it with you…
re: the above — when will there be an application that generates these sorts of videos automatically from a given work/recording? can software be taught to listen to classical music and cue it with a scan of the score?
some of the pieces to coordinate: OCR, audio analysis, interface with IMSLP(/other library of scores), interface with Spotify(/other library of classical recordings)
